<p style=”text-align: justify; “>Chandigarh registered the second highest per capita income among all states and union territories during 2015-16 at about Rs 2.42 lakh, over 2.5 times the national average, according to the latest official data released in New Delhi.</p><p style=”text-align: justify; “>The city is behind Delhi, which registered the highest per capita income at Rs 2,80,142, over three times the national average. Sikkim occupied the third spot with Rs 2,27,465.</p><p style=”text-align: justify; “>Chandigarh’s current figure of Rs 2,42,386 is a meagre increase of over Rs 1,699, or 0.7 per cent, compared to the previous year when it was Rs 2,40,687, a statistical handbook released in Delhi showed. Delhi’s current figure increased by over Rs 28,000, or 13 per cent, compared to the previous year when it was Rs 2,52,011.</p>
