Directed by Jon Favreau and based on Rudyard Kipling’s timeless stories and inspired by Disney’s classic animated film, ‘The Jungle Book,’ is an all-new live-action epic adventure about the same old Mowgli (played by newcomer Neel Sethi), a man-cub who’s been raised by a family of wolves. The film, which will have a voiceover in various languages across the world, has already managed to strike the right cords with the Indian audiences, courtesy, the recently released sound track of the film, ‘Jungle jungle baat chali.’
Though the track picks up the chorus ‘Jungle jungle baat chali hai pata chala hai…’ from the older version, it has a new and highly improved avatar. And it would be wrong to say that it is impressive or touching, because it is way more than that. The lyrics by Gulzar are simple and catchy and the music by Vishal Bhardwaj simply transports you back to the ‘Mowgli’ days. Together the two have very successfully managed to recreate the magic of the mighty jungle, giving us goosebumps.
What’s more is that the video captures the tiny singers in action, which just makes it so much more aww-worthy.
The film, which sees brilliant artists like Priyanka Chopra, Nana Patekar, Irrfan Khan and Om Puri giving voiceovers, will hit screens on April 6, and we for one, are super excited to catch it. But while there is still some time before we can do that, we are just going to play this song on loop, because it honestly is that good !
