Road Safety-Capacity Building Programme for School Teachers

2nd day of two days ‘School Conclave for Road Safety-Capacity Building Programme for School Teachers’ has been concluded in the auditorium of Delhi Public School, Sector 40, Chandigarh. The Conclave was organized by Institute of Road Traffic Education, New Delhi in collaboration with Chandigarh Traffic Police and sponsored by DIAGEO foundation. Sh. B.L. Sharma, IAS, Secretary Education, U.T, Chandigarh was the Chief Guest of the valedictory session. Dr. O.P. Mishra IPS, DIGP/UT Chandigarh, Shri Shashank Anand, IPS, SSP/Traffic & Security, Dr. Rohit Baluja, Director IRTE, Dr. Surender S. Dahiya, Director SCERT, Chandigarh, Ms. Anujeet Kaur, DEO/UT Chandigarh, Mrs. Reema Dewan, Principal, Delhi Public School, Chandigarh were also present on this occasion. A motivational song and Ganesh Vandhana was performed by students of Delhi Public School Sector 40, Chandigarh.
During this event, Dr. Rohit Baluja, Director, IRTE defined thirteen objectives regarding road safety were explained to the 91 school teachers of Govt. schools of UT Chandigarh and teachers were encouraged how to communicate these objectives through the existing subjects of the curriculum to the school children. Besides this, an interactive session with the school teachers was also held. Apart from this, certificates of participation were distributed to all the school teachers who attended this programme.
