Christmas celebrations at St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School

St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School was swept by the Yuletide spirit with Christmas fervor being witnessed all across the school’s campus. The school was embellished with beautifully decorated boards and corridors. The function began with a prayer to the Almighty that emphasized on forgiveness to one’s enemy, tolerance for the opponent, charity for the needy and a loving heart for one’s near and dear ones. Students presented a wonderful play depicting the birth of Lord Jesus in a unique and interesting manner. They dressed as Santa Claus, Joseph, Mother Mary, the Kings (three wisemen) and the shepherds. The play was interspersed with carol singing that filled the air with festivity. The students came to know about the significance of this day. A power packed hip-hop dance was performed on the ever popular Jingle-Bells. Based on the Acts of Goodness by the students, some students were honoured. The Josephians donated some gifts for the wall of kindness under the programme ‘Each One Reach One’ as an act of kindness and gratitude towards the needy ones in the society. The wall is marked on the outer façade of the school where some beautifully wrapped gifts were displayed for the underprivileged section of the society to include them in the Christmas Celebration. Santa too made a grand entry in the school ground packed with the children. The boundless joy of celebrating the festival was amply visible on the faces of the children especially when Santa moved around distributing sweets to them. The celebration imbibed a message of loving, caring, sharing and respecting all as was preached by Jesus himself.

The Principal, Ms Monica Chawla wished the students an abundantly blessed Christmas and hoped that the light of Christmas candles would illuminate their lives and guide their path. Ma’am Lily too emphasized on the need to pray for those who aren’t able to partake in the festivities that symbolize goodness and charity. Mr. Sukhdeep Grewal added that through ‘Each one Reach one’ programme the Josephian Family is looking forward for more & more acts of kindness, love and care as it is a small step towards a better society.
