Containment zones in Panchkula increased to 13 in ten days

The number of containment zones in Panchkula increased to 13 on Friday, after the city saw more than 22 COVID-19 cases reported over the span of ten days since June 1. The total number of cases in the city now stands at 51.

After four new cases of coronavirus positive in Panchkula district on Thursday, DC Mukesh Kumar Ahuja on Friday declared 2 new Containment Zone’s in Panchkula. As per orders of District Magistrate, Panchkula the following areas have been designated as Containment Zone:

  1. The areas of GH-1, Tower-E, Mansadevi Complex, Sector-5, Panchkula.
  2. The areas of Village Abheypur, Panchkula starting from H.No. 289 to 290A & 290B and H.No. 373A & 373B Panchkula and open areas of gali having these houses.

The cause of concern for the public is the increase in the cases this month following the relaxation of rules. Most of the cases are travellers and some other are contacts of old cases.

HSVP Estate Officer (Panchkula) Mamta Sharma has been notified as the overall in-charge, who will ensure the supply of essential commodities to the residents of the containment zone.
