Cases of Coronavirus have increased rapidly in the city. In the last 3 days, 10 new cases of coronavirus have been found positive. Now the number of patients in the city has gone up to 40. Four more new cases came on Monday. Reports of two doctors of Anesthesia Department of GMCH-32, a ward boy of Sector-21, and a youth of Bapudham Colony have come out positive. Earlier on Sunday, 6 cases were reported positive in a single day.
Increased risk of community spread of the virus
On Sunday, four members of the family of Bapudham’s youth, who is an OT attendant at Sector-32 Hospital, were found positive. Apart from this, a PGI staff nurse was also found positive. Due to the increase in number of cases, doctors now believe that the situation of community spread of coronavirus has arisen in Chandigarh, because the danger has increased even more due to the spread of this virus among residents without any foreign history or local connections.
It is believed that the lockdown period, as of now till May 3, can be extended. The youth of Bapudham, who was found Corona positive on Monday, is an employee of the Haryana government.
