<p><span style=”font-weight: bold;”>Chandigarh:</span> Over 100 International and national members faculty will enlighten 500 national and international delegates about latest advances and treatment modalities in cardiovascular diseases and help them in better diagnosing and treating heart patients at the two-day international conference Live Workshop and Symposium on Interventional Cardiology (LWSIC) and 4th National Heart Failure Summit and on being on the August 1 and August 2, 2015 at the JW Marriot, Chandigarh, India.</p><p>While addressing the media persons today the chief patron Heart Foundation, which is organizing this event in collaboration with Fortis Hospital Mohali, the IMA and the CSI, Dr H K Bali said that the interventional cardiologists will get systematic education on interventional conference on various types of heart diseases, with focus on blocked heart arteries, heart failure and endovascular procedures.</p><p>Dr Bali said that the Heart Foundation has already held three interventional meetings in the last few years. At the fourth event, internationally renowned cardiologists from the United States, Europe and Africa and around 110 national faculty from various parts of our country will be participating. Besides this more than 500 delegates from all over the country and 100-by-selected-nominations cardiology fellows are scheduled to attend the same.</p><p>He added that over the past years, this academic endeavor has been instrumental for healthcare professionals of this region to prime them on latest advances and treatment modalities in cardiovascular medicine and has become the most representative educational meeting of its kind. </p><p>Dr Bali said the live demonstration to treat complex coronary artery blocks, Endovascular disease and implantation of heart failure pacemakers will also be held. Live procedures from Cath lab, Fortis Hospital will be transmitted to the Summit’s Venue at Hotel Lalit.</p><p>The event will be embellished with presentations, quizzes and interactive case sessions on various contemporary topics in cardiovascular medicine. The highlight of the course is a live workshop in which internationally acclaimed cardiologist would be conducting complex coronary, endovascular and heart failure device implantation procedures. This live workshop would give opportunity to budding cardiologist to interact with the experts to enhance their learning skills.</p><p>Dr Bali said that taking innovative education to level next, conference has collaborated with SCAI (Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions) to host a SCAI fellows and early practitioners course to enhance the learning curve of the country’s budding interventionists. Its for the second time that this extremely prestigious course is being conducted in India. The nominations for SCAI are by invitation and only a hundred of the best have been selected for the course.</p><p>Also selected complex intervention cases with educative features will be discussed during challenging cases session, which will be another highlight of this meeting.</p><p>Another spotlight of course is SAARC Initiative, which aims to provide a unified platform to leading cardiologists of the SAARC nations to discuss strategies to reduce cardiovascular mortality. Fitting in with this aim, initiative has been named 25 by 25 keeping in sync with the similarly named initiative of the WHF (World Heart Federation) to build strategies to reduce cardiovascular deaths by 25% by the year 2025</p><p>Dr Sandeep Dhawan President Chandigarh IMA and Yogesh Joshi from Fortis hospital were also present during the press conference.</p>
