English Proficiency Course for international students started at the Panjab University (PU). The course is being run with an online component exclusively customized for the international students.
As many as 65 international students are participating in the first batch of the course, which has been started as a measure to help the international students coming to India with limited exposure to English. The English Proficiency Course is
compulsory for all foreign students who join PU and its affiliated colleges.
The Department of English teachers would train the international students. This batch of students forms part of a pilot study to assess the efficacy of the added online component. Each student can utilize the online instruction and materials and also attend face-to-face sessions for the whole academic year.
