Chandigarh: Neither SOI nor NSUI, the flag of PUSU party unfurled in the office of Panjab University student council office. Nishant Kaushal cropped up for the president of PU 2017. Despite having close edge with SFS, PUSU grabbed the chair of president by 349votes. However, last time winner SOI backed by Akalis in Punjab tailed to third position and another national competitor NSUI remained last during the student elections.
Nishant got 2,843 votes, Piyush got 2,505, while Amritpal polled 2,494. Siya Minocha of the National Students’ Union of India was a distant fourth with 2,074.
