Celebrating International Day of Prayers

When we wish to be at harmony , we need to help our surroundings to be at peace. To accentuate the message of peace, Josephites too, took a step forward.
The Peace Club of St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School, Sector 44-D Chandigarh conducted a plethora of activities to celebrate a day of ‘Peace and Prayers’. Candle March was done by Class VI students, where candles were lit to signify the Lord’s presence and symbolized the prayers done for the suffering mankind. Josephites marched gracefully carrying placards bearing peace messages. Stone Painting and Book Mark Making activities were conducted in classes VII and VIII, where students actually left no stone unturned to exhibit their creativity in the form of innovative and heart touching messages. A Big ‘collage’ was made by the tiny tots of Primary 1 all adorned with message of peace. The purpose to celebrate the day was to strengthen the ideals of peace. All these activities helped in sensitizing the young minds towards peace and brotherhood. The revered Principal, Ms. Monica Chawla and the honourable Director of the School, Mr. Rupinder Singh applauded their efforts and said that we should believe in World’s peace and brotherhood, and should condemn, such heinous acts which are against the spirit of humanity and urged students to pray for peace of the martyr’s Soul, for the disturbed territories of our country – J & K, for the World’s disturbed countries – Syria & Afghan, all suffering from fatal diseases, for those who strive hard for daily bread and shelter and for those who risk their lives in space and laboratories working on upliftment of humanity through invention & discoveries.
