A 71-year-old man’s body was found lying in a toilet of the PGI’s new OPD block. He has been identified as Chandan Singh Rawat, a resident of Sector 27, Panchkula. He was said to be suffering from a disease for a while now.
As per the police, Rawat left his residence around 8:30 am for check-up at the PGI. However he did not return home. After searching, his car was found in the Sector 11 market parking lot.
In the meantime, his body was found in the toilet around 11:15 am by a security guard. As per the police, security guard Sujit Singh heard a mobile phone ringing in the toilet. However, the toilet was locked from inside. After opening the toilet, Singh found Rawat lying in a mysterious way.
His family members were called to the spot and the body was identified by his daughter. The police have registered a daily diary report in this regard.
