The number of corona virus cases are constantly on a rise in India. Chandigarh has recorded a steady rise in COVID-19 cases in the month of July. The total tally of patients in Chandigarh has crossed the 1000 mark.
In just three weeks in July, the number of cases doubled from 500 to 1,016. With the doubling rate of a month, Chandigarh is likely to have at least 2,000 cases by the end of August.
The doubling rate is calculated by using the average growth rate of COVID-19 cases in the city in the past seven days.
If the growth rate of cases continues to remain the same or increases, the UT Administration will have to think of ways to extend their infrastructure and human resources to cater to the growing burden of the disease.
