Chandigarh: City residents can now pay their water and electricity bills by just downloading an application “My Chandigarh” on their android mobile phones. The UT department of information technology launched the application city bus guide and e-payment mobile app. The application was launched by UT adviser Vijay Dev.
The mobile application will have five features, including ePayment, mSampark, mRLA, city bus guide and e-campus.
The city bus guide has been developed CTU buses which will act as pocket guide to provide information related to bus routes, stops and timings. The e-payment app has been developed to make online payment of electricity and water bills. Residents will be charged RS 10 per transaction on internet banking, 0.75% on transactions up to Rs 2,000 and 1% for transaction above Rs 2,000 from debit card users, and 1% of the transaction amount from credit card users. A service tax of 14% would be charged on every transaction.
