Furever Friends organised First-Aid training workshop for animals at DC Model School, Panchkula on Friendship Day to make sure that our four legged friends be safe always. Show stopper – Robin, an adopted dog by the school authorities won all hearts. The main purpose of the workshop was to provide solution to increasing number of accidents and mis-happenings on street with animals.
Shirina Khera, excise and taxation officer also a and a very big animal lover was the chief guest of the workshop and Neetu Gaur, Assistant Professor CRIID was Guest of Honour.
Vikas Luthra, founder of Furever Friends emphasised on imparting technical knowledge to all the animal activists on rescues. Luthra said, ” keeping an animal safe means learning many different skills and this workshop will empower all animal lovers with skill and confidence to help in those first vital minutes before taken to vet. He added organisation will also provide special first aid kits which will be handy and easy to carry for all emergencies.
Training was taken by Dr. Vikrant Singh, Veterinary Surgeon who guided and demonstrated how to handle the situation under emergency. He focused on allergy reactions, bites and stings, bleeding, skin infections, burns, choking, injuries, heat stroke, accidents and much more. Divey Dahiya, a cruelty-free animal trainer, introduced simple steps on how to train and understand an animal’s behaviour.
RJ Golmal Gagan was the special guest of the evening and Luthra announced him as an official onboard member of Furever Friends.
The workshop ended with a special speech by Amir Sharma, renowned lawyer of Tricity. He mentioned few points on how to deal legally with animal abuse cases.
