Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Hotel Management Sector-42(D), a premier Hotel Management institute in the country , an autonomous body under Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, celebrated its Annual Day 2018, which was a spectacular event, fully organized and lead by the passionate students and the faculty of the college. It was a memorable occasion which showcased the dexterity of students and brought their talents into the limelight.
The institute was grateful and honored by the presence of the honorable chief guest Shri Anurag Agarwal ji, IAS, Home Secretary Chandigarh Administration, also the Chairman of the institute and Shri B.L Sharma ,IAS, Secretary Education , Managing Director CITCO as the guest of honor.
The event commenced with the traditional, auspicious lighting of the lamp by the respected Principal, Mrs. Bharti Tyagi, along with the honorable guests, which was followed by a choir of the students praising the Goddess Saraswati by singing a melodious Vandana, enchanting the audience with their angelic voices.
On this occasion the principal of the institute, Mrs. Bharti Tyagi gave a presentation on the annual report of the institute and laid emphasis on the proud achievements, excellent performances in academics, as well as co-curricular activities organized in the institute in the year 2017-18. She also appreciated and praised the students’ efforts and zeal of taking initiatives for various activities.
The day was further made extra ordinary with the release of the latest issue of “GOURMET’S AFFAIR”, the annual magazine of the institute. It highlights the acmes of various activities organized by the institute. The students and faculties also got a chance to leave their personal touch in the magazine through their own captivating articles and interesting research papers.
The Chief Guest encouraged students with words of wisdom and praised the theme which was “Colors of Life”. He delivered a pitch perfect speech inspiring the young hoteliers to overcome the weaknesses with a bold heart, mind and soul.
Following the energetic performances delivered by the students, meritorious winners in the field of academics, sports and extra co-curricular activities were honored with prizes by the chief guest.

The cultural event was concluded with some marvelous dance performances including “Punjabi Bhangra” which infused energy into the crowd. After the function, the beautiful restaurant of the institute, “The Atithi” hosted a high tea , based on the theme “Bharat Bhramand”, where various assortments, delicacies and innovative mocktails were served to the delight of the guests.
The event finished with every glittering star carrying a feeling of happiness and achievement within itself. The spellbinding and sensational performances of the show revealed as to how much the teachers and students have put in, their tireless efforts in exhibiting this very special programme.
