Seven pockets of Chandigarh’s Bapu Dham Colony removed from buffer zone

Seven pockets from Bapu Dham Colony, from where no single COVID-19 case has been reported until now, were removed from the buffer zone on Tuesday. The seven pockets – which comprise pocket nos 4, 5, 7, 13, 14, 16 & 20 – have been under the buffer zone since last 28 days. Around 12,000 people live in these seven pockets.

  • Pocket No.5 Block No.714, 718, 719
  • Pocket No.7 03 blocks i.e. 723, 724, 730
  • Pocket No.13 291 to 338 and 350 to 372
  • Pocket No.14 425 to 447 and 471 to 516
  • Pocket No.16 50 to 58 and 83 to 91 and 101 to 180
  • Pocket No.20 337 to 354 and 364 to 401 and 404 to 423

Residents from the area will not have unregulated exit and entry and can move in accordance with regulations followed by the rest of the city.

Screening and monitoring of the area by medical teams will continue. Regular sanitization of the areas by Municipal Authorities will be conducted and the residents be advised to maintain social distancing norms, wear masks and follow hand hygiene.
